Dr. Angayarkanni Narayanasamy completed her Masters and PhD in Bio-Chemistry fromm Dr. ALMPGIBMS Madras University. She is Currently working as a Reader in Bio-Chemistry Research department, Sankara Nethralaya.

She is involved in teaching Undergraduates and Postgraduates in Biochemistry Research Department for MS Medical Laboratory Technology, BS Optometry and also co-ordinates training and internship programmes.

She is the principal investigator and co-investigator in numerous on-going research projects. Her current areas of interest include role of homocysteine, oxidative stress and antioxidants in ocular pathology, angiogenesis in retinal diseases, t ear proteomics and metabalomics in Dry eye syndrome and role of Lysly oxidase in vitreo-retinal disorders. She has 11 publications in peer reviewed and 7 publications in inhouse journals. She has presented numerous papers in national and international conferences.
