Dr Amala Elizabeth George completed her medical graduate degree from St John's Medical College, Bangalore in 1994; Diploma of National Board of Examinations (DNB) (Ophthalmology) in 1998. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1999. She specialized in Uveitis and Intraocular Inflammation at Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya Madras (1998 – 1999). She received the Major Gen SL Bhatia Award in Physiology in 1990. She has published 10 papers in peer reviewed National and International journals, 17 papers and 10 posters in National and State Ophthalmic Conferences. She has participated in 4 instruction courses in Uveitis in National and State Ophthalmic Conferences. She is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Tamilnadu State Ophthalmic Association and the Indian Uveitis Society.
