Dr Amitabh Kumar did MBBS from Nalanda Medical College, Patna. After doing House job in Ophthalmology, he worked as a Resident at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, Tamilnadu. He completed Diploma in Ophthalmology from Institute Of Ophthalmology, Joseph Eye Hospital, Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu. He worked as a Senior Resident at Medical Trust Hospital, Cochin, Kerala. He then went on to do a fellowship in Uveitis and Intraocular inflammation from Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. He is currently working as an Associate Consultant, Uveitis Services at Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata. He is a member of the All India, Delhi, Bihar Ophthalmological Societies and Eastern India Zonal Ophthalmic Congress. He has received the Jayaben Chamanlal Shah Gold Medal as the Best Outgoing Ophthalmology Fellow of Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya for the academic year 2006-2007.
