Dr. V. Jagadeesh is a Consultant Anesthesiologist in the Dept. of Anesthesiology at Sankara Nethralaya. He completed his M.B.B.S from Madras University in 1977 and completed his D.A and M.D in Anesthesiology in 1981 and 1983 respectively. From April 1983 to July 1984 he was an Asst Surgeon Anaesthesiologist at E.S.I Hospital K. K Nagar Chennai. Subsequently from July 1984 to May 1985 he served as Tutor in Anesthesia, at Govt RM Hospital Thanjavur. From May 1985 to April 1988 he was Asst Prof of Anaesthesia at TMCH, Thanjavur. For a period of 5 years between April 1988 to Feb 1993, he was a Specialist Anaesthesiologist, King Fahd Specialist Hospital Buraidah, Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia. From April 1993 to Nov 1997, he served as Asst Prof of Anaesthesia at Madras Medical College. From Dec 1997 to March 2002 he worked as a Specialist Anaesthesiologist at Royal Hospital, Sultanate of Oman. After his return, he has joined Sankara Nethralaya in 2002 and currently heads the Department of Anesthesiology.

His expertise in Clinical Anesthesia is for the past 24 years. He is Experienced in management of Neurosurgical, Cardiac, Obstetric, Neonatal, Paediatric, Orthopaedic & General surgical procedures. He is also experienced in the management of critically ill patients of Tertiary level ICU units. He has completed BLS, ACLS & PALS courses at Royal Hospital OMAN.

He is actively involved in teaching & training of Postgraduates. He is also a Member of CPR training Program. He has delivered Lectures in CME programs at ISA Salem & ICCSM Chennai.

His awards include Merit certificates in Physiology & Pharmacology, a Best paper award in TRICON - ISA Conference – 2004. Dr.V. Jagadeesh is a member of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists and Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
