Dr.Usha Somanathan graduated from TD Medical College Alleppy, Kerala and completed her Diploma in Anaesthesia from BJ Medical College Ahmedabad ,Gujrat. She therafter worked as a SHO in Anaesthesia in South Cleveland Hospital , UK and as a Registrar, Anesthesiology, at Chase Farm Hospital , London , UK. Thereafter she worked as a consultant anesthesiologist in renowned hospitals in Cochin and Mumbai. She joined Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya in August 2002 as a consultant Anesthesiologist. She also conducts classes for BSOA, Optometry students.
Her areas of interest are Paediatric Anaesthesia, Regional Anaesthesia with Sedation.
