Designation: Anesthetist.

He joined as a full-time anesthetist in the year 1999. He was awarded fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia by Sankara-Nethralaya –Orbis Pediatric Ophthalmology Learning and Training Centre in Nov 2004.

He has conducted workshop in Neuro-muscular monitoring in MACME, June 2004. He was also involved in conducting a CME on Ophthalmic Anesthesia in Dec 2002 and a CME in Pediatric Anesthesia and Medicine in June 2005.

He attended CME program and workshop organized by the Madras Medical College, MACME in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He also attended ISACON 2006, 54 th Annual National Conference of Indian Society of Anesthesiologists, JSS Medical College, Mysore in December 2006 and Asia-ARVO meeting on research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Singapore in March 2007. He also attended a workshop in research methodology, PSG Institute of Medical Science and Research, Coimbatore in Nov 2005.

His areas of special interest include anesthesia for premature babies, regional ophthalmic anesthesia and research in the field of ophthalmic anesthesia.

He has presented several research papers at various national and international conferences. His free paper titled “Intracuff Air Vs Saline Vs Alkalinised Lignocaine – A comparative study for smooth extubation in hyperactive airway patients undergoing eye surgery under general anesthesia” was adjudged one of the best papers by the annual state conference of Indian Society of Anesthesiologists Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry branch, July 2005. He is actively involved in various research projects related to ophthalmic anesthesia.
