Low vision aids (LVA) are special devices used to help the patient with poor vision to utilize the residual vision in a more effective way and in certain cases, improve the vision.
The Clinic helps the patients see the World
better with whatever residual vision he has.
The optical aids range from simple magnifiers to telescopes, CCTV and fresnel prisms. The non-optical aids include typoscopes, jumbo watches, jumbo cards etc.
The patients who are referred to the Clinic
have congenital or acquired defects when medical
or surgical intervention does not help.
In the Clinic, special examination procedures
like LVA history, different refraction procedures
and acquainting them to various low vision
aids are done.
