A Well equipped Library is a reflection of
an institution's commitment to education and
research. Library is a major participant in
all Sankara Nethralaya activities. It strives
with Topical Displays/Bibliographical updates
and Current awareness services according to
the events and topics of the academic nature.
As the fifth Law of 'Library Science' says,
"Library is a growing organism", along with
Sankara Nethralaya, three more Libraries have
been established at Elite School of Optometry,
Chennai and within Sankara Nethralaya HRD
and Consultant Study Libraries with collection
of Optometry / Culture / Education and Religion
books and journals.
The Library at Sankara Nethralaya has over
4800 books on Ophthalmology and Visual Science
besides texts in General Medicine. Other educational
aids include audio and video cassettes and
CD ROMS. The Hospital also subscribes to over
35 National and International scientific journals.
Access to Medlars database through the Internet
is also available.
