- Conducted an international symposium - Update in Neuro-ophthalmology 2002
- Best paper award at the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Conference 2003
- Have started a 1 year fellowship programme in Neuro-ophthalmology
- Have conducted a neuro-ophthalmology session in Neuroupdate 2008 along with Madras Neuro Trust
- Organising an international Neuro-ophthalmology Update in Jan 2009 in which legends of neuro-ophthalmology Prof Neil Miller ,DrAndrew lee,Dr Daroff ,Dr David zee – from U.S participated.
- About 35 506 patients were seen in the neuro ophthalmology department during nov 2005 –april 2008 This is a substantial rise in the OPD compared to previous statistics.
Plan for Achievements
- To enhance OPD by having interactions with local neurologists and interventional radiologists by focusing groups and conducting CMEs
- Neuro genetics – a new area of patient care
- A new Atlas “Atlas of Neuro Imaging in Opthalmology”.giving emphasis on the applications of neuro imaging in ophthalmology
