Title: Effect of amino acids on the insulin mediated signal transduction pathway in cultured Chinese Hamster Ovary cells

Scope :

•  To study the glucose uptake by CHOK1 cells in the presence of amino acids

•  To see if they potentiate insulin receptors

Duration : Three years

Expected benefits : Amino acid supplementation can delay cataractogeneis and possibly diabetic retinopathy.
