Scope
- To identify families with strong family
history of glaucoma.
- To screen the candidate regions/genes
causing glaucoma.
- To undertake a whole genome search
with fluorescent-based linkage panels
for
Glaucoma.
- Clinical documentation of the patients
including photograph of the lens of patient
who have abnormal genetic results.
Duration: Three years
Expected benefits
To study the expression of proteins and
their levels in the tissues like trabecular
meshwork, involved in the pathology and
compare that with the normal condition.
This will help in understanding the pathology
of the disease. This will be of potential
significance in drug targeting and thus
the management of the disease.
