| Three projects funded by DBT and ICMR are going on retinoblastoma.
The DBT project uses proteomics as a tool to profile protein expression in retinoblastoma of different stages of invasion. This project is in collaboration with the scientists from advanced proteomics lab at CCMB Hyderabad.
The ICMR project involves usage of a herbal derivative in retinoblastoma cells and investigates the effect on invasion and proliferation of the same on the cells.
The ICMR project involves the use of fatty acid synthase inhibitors to study the apoptosis.
Two projects funded by DST going on in uveal melanoma and retinoblastoma.
The DST- CISH project envisages study of chromosomal aberration in uveal melanoma. This is a 1-year project.
The DST- siRNA project uses siRNA as a prospective tool to treat retinoblastoma by targeting a novel surface protein as a marker for certain stages of retinoblastoma.
