Molecular mechanisms of amino acids at the level of signal transduction in retinal pigment epithelial cells, retinal capillary endothelial cells and pericytes.

To study the effect of glucose and advanced glycation end products on cultured retinal capillary endothelial cells and Pericytes.

Duration: Three years

Expected benefits :

To see if aminoacids can have beneficial effects in diabetic retinopathy by altering survival signalling.
