CAMP ORGANIZERS

Tele-ophthalmology Camps are conducted in partnership with local community service organizations that sponsors the camp. Our Social Worker – Planning assists the Sponsors in making appropriate arrangements. He guides the sponsors in publicizing the event adequately through distribution of handbills, posters at prominent places in the area, making announcements through a speaker system in the auto rickshaw, announcement through the local cable television network in the neighborhood etc. Our Social Worker –Planning, visits the campsite one week before the scheduled date to ensure proper arrangement. He also holds discussions with the sponsors to finalize on strategies to ensure smooth conduct of the eye camp. Our Tele-ophthalmology team is also involved in educating the local community about proper eye care. Teaching and Training for local Ophthalmologist / General Physicians / Optometrist / Opticians / Nurses and train teachers to identify children with visual impairments are also part of this project. Individuals or voluntary social service organizations – such as Lions, Rotary, Religious Groups, Industries, Charitable Trusts, Banks, Hospitals, Rural Service Organizations, Recreation Clubs, Farmers Associations, and Panchayat Presidents who are interested in community welfare may sponsor a Tele-ophthalmology Camp
