CONTINUOUS MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME) :

Ophthalmology education via videoconference or online courseware can deliver expertise and training without conventional travel expenses. Both instructor-mediated and computer-mediated programmes are becoming available. School teachers are trained to do basic vision screening in schools using video conferencing facilities. Increased access to education for both patients and providers may prove even more effective in addressing the disparity of ophthalmology care in different part of the world.

Hospitals like Sri Sathya Sai Information Technology Centre, , Army Hospital , New Delhi , AIMS, Cochin , are participating in Sankara Nethralaya Weekly CME's, Grand Rounds of Various Ophthalmic Sub-Specialties and Weekly Vitreo Retinal classes.

TEACHERS:

We invite school teachers for 1 day training program and train them personally to do basic vision screening in schools.

AWARENESS PROGRAMMES IN THE RURAL VILLAGES:

Awareness programmes about common eye disorders like cataract, refractive errors, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma are done through posters and video presentations as a part of teleophthalmology camps in villages in their regional languages.
