Dr. Debasmita Bera has over seven years of experience in the field of ophthalmology, including more than two years of specialized experience in cornea and anterior segment services. She obtained her Diploma in Ophthalmology from Burdwan Medical College, West Bengal in 2019 and subsequently completed her Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in 2022. She further underwent an advanced long-term fellowship in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata and Chennai in 2025, and was awarded the Fellowship of the All-India Collegium of Ophthalmology (FAICO) in Cornea in February 2026.

Her areas of clinical, diagnostic, and surgical expertise encompass the management of corneal infections, lamellar corneal transplantation, ocular surface disorders, ocular surface neoplasia, and ocular trauma. She is presently associated with Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata, as an Associate Consultant.

Alongside her clinical expertise, she maintains a strong interest in research and clinical-based ophthalmology. Her goal is to bridge high quality surgical care with impactful clinical research to advance the field of corneal and anterior segment disorders.
