Dr Mani Baskaran is a Senior Consultant and Director of Glaucoma Services at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, and Deputy Director (Research), Vision Research Foundation. He is a distinguished clinician-scientist with more than 27 years of experience in glaucoma management, research, and innovation.

He completed his doctoral research (PhD) imaging in glaucoma from the National University of Singapore and has played a key role in advancing imaging-based diagnosis of angle closure disease. He has been an integral part of major epidemiological studies including the Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Diseases and the Chennai Glaucoma Study and several Randomized Controlled Trials in glaucoma.

Dr Baskaran M has authored over 350 peer-reviewed publications with significant international citations (H-index 63). His work spans glaucoma genetics, epidemiology, Paediatric glaucoma, artificial intelligence in glaucoma screening, and intraocular pressure monitoring technologies.
