| Department of Biochemistry was started in 1985 as a Biochemistry Research Department supporting the need of the hospital by carrying out several special investigations related to ocular diseases such as screening for Inborn errors of metabolism and aminoaciduria by HPLC and trace elements analysis by atomic absorption spectroscopy |

| The department of Ocular Pathology, Vision Research Foundation, a unit of Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai started in 1986 supporting the need of the hospital by carrying out routine pathological diagnosis and investigations related to ocular diseases. |

Sri Nathella Sampathu Chetty Clinical Laboratory, Sankara Nethralaya (SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre - Pycrofts Garden Road) at 21, Pycrofts Garden Road was established on 10th February 1999. It is Converted into SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre and now operates at the 1st floor of Sri Sivasailam Block since 02.05.16.
Sri Nathella Sampathu Chetty Clinical Laboratory, Sankara Nethralaya (SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre) at 73, Venkata Krishna Road (Navasuja Sankara Nethralaya) was established on –17.6.2004 & converted into SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre - NSN since 07/02/2015. Navasuja Sankara Nethralaya has been shifted to New Premises on 15.07.2021. Sankara Nethralaya RA Puram, New No. 30, Old No.73, Kamarajar Salai, Raja Annamalaipuram, Sri Nathella Sampathu Chetty Clinical Laboratory, Sankara Nethralaya established SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre - SN RA Puram at New Premises, Sankara Nethralaya RA Puram, New No.30, Old No.73, Kamarajar Salai, Raja Annamalaipuram,, It is functioning as SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre – RA Puram since 15.07.2021.
Sri Nathella Sampathu Chetty Clinical Laboratory, Sankara Nethralaya established Collection Centre at 8, GST Road (C.U.Shah Sankara Nethralaya – Rural Eye Hospital). It is functioning as SNSC Clinical Laboratory Collection Centre – CUSSN since 22.10.2015. |
